Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of Work
All work to be completed is limited to the scope outlined in the approved estimate, proposal, or contract. Any additional work requested by the client will be treated as a change order and may result in additional charges and schedule adjustments.
2. Deposits & Payment Schedule
A deposit may be required before scheduling and material ordering. Remaining payments are due according to the payment schedule outlined in the proposal. Late payments may be subject to interest charges of 2% per month (24% annually). MVC Home Remodeling reserves the right to pause work if payments are not made on time.
3. Material Supply
Unless otherwise specified, MVC Home Remodeling is not responsible for manufacturer defects, discontinued materials, color variations, or delays caused by suppliers. Natural products such as hardwood, tile, and stone may vary in color, grain, texture, and appearance.
4. Site Conditions
The client is responsible for providing:
- Clear access to the work area
- Electrical power
- Running water
- Climate-controlled conditions when required
MVC Home Remodeling is not responsible for delays or damages caused by hidden conditions including but not limited to: uneven subfloors, structural deficiencies, moisture issues, mold, asbestos or hazardous materials, and existing plumbing or electrical deficiencies. Additional work required due to hidden conditions will be quoted separately.
5. Flooring-Specific Conditions
Hardwood & Engineered Hardwood
- Wood is a natural product and may expand, contract, squeak, or change appearance due to humidity and temperature variations.
- Client must maintain indoor humidity levels between manufacturer-recommended ranges after installation.
- MVC Home Remodeling is not responsible for seasonal movement, gaps, cupping, crowning, or moisture-related issues caused by site conditions.
Vinyl & Laminate Flooring
- Minor subfloor imperfections may telegraph through flooring materials.
- Floating floors may naturally move or shift slightly with seasonal expansion and contraction.
- Furniture scratches, dents, and water damage are not covered under workmanship warranty.
Subfloor Preparation
Floor leveling and preparation are estimated based on visible conditions only. Additional floor preparation beyond the quoted scope may result in additional charges.
6. Renovation Dust & Noise
Construction generates dust, vibration, and noise. While MVC Home Remodeling takes reasonable measures to protect the home and maintain cleanliness, dust may travel beyond contained areas. Clients are responsible for removing fragile, valuable, or sensitive items from work areas.
7. Schedule & Delays
Estimated start dates and completion dates are subject to change due to:
- Material delays
- Weather
- Change orders
- Site conditions
- Inspection scheduling
- Circumstances beyond contractor control
MVC Home Remodeling will make reasonable efforts to maintain project timelines.
8. Permits & Inspections
Unless specifically included in writing, permits and inspections are the responsibility of the homeowner.
9. Warranty
MVC Home Remodeling provides a workmanship warranty of 1 year from the date of substantial completion. This warranty does not cover:
- Manufacturer defects
- Manufacturer defects
- Damage caused by moisture, abuse, neglect, pets, furniture, or improper maintenance
- Structural movement
- Seasonal expansion/contraction
- Work completed or modified by others after installation
Manufacturer warranties apply separately where applicable.
10. Client Acceptance
Final payment confirms acceptance of completed work.
11. Cancellation
Deposits used for material purchases, scheduling, or custom orders may be non-refundable. If a project is cancelled after work has started, the client agrees to pay for:
- Completed work
- Materials ordered
- Restocking fees
- Time already scheduled
12. Liability
MVC Home Remodeling carries liability insurance and WCB coverage. MVC Home Remodeling’s liability is limited to the value of the contracted work performed.
13. Photography
MVC Home Remodeling may photograph completed work for portfolio and marketing purposes unless otherwise requested in writing by the client.
